Nicholas Schlader "Nick", 1861-1949. Year this picture was taken, unknown. Nick came here with his parents and settled in IL. Then they moved to Wright county, IA. Woolstock, Eagle Grove and Clarion areas. Nick married Catherine Sadler in 1885 in Webster City, IA.  Why Webster City, I don't know. Then somewhere around 1909 they moved to Lisbon, ND. They had 8 children: Anthony 1887-1940 [d.ND]; Peter 1888-1954 [d.MN.] (my husband's grandpa); Theresa "Tracy" 1890-1964, married Delbert Strain; Frank 1892-1966 [d.ND]; Emma 1897-1986 [d.MN]. Emmy married Andrew Ray Martz-I think he went by Ray; Mathias "Matt" 1900-1964 [d.MN.]; George 1904-1961; Clara 1908-1997 [d.HI]. Clara married Ralph Ryan. The reason I put 1909 as the year they moved to Lisbon is because Clara was born in Eagle Grove in Nov.1908 and they are on the 1910 census in Lisbon.
Does anyone have a photo of Nick and his wife Catherine "Kate" together??  We have one of Kate and her brother Hank I will try and post at some point.
